The wine section of our September Fine Wine & Spirits sale achieved a 94% sell-through rate, with three quarters of sold lots meeting or exceeding their estimates.
Bordeaux produced some of the strongest results of the day. Lot 19, Château Margaux 2010 realised €10,625, while Lot 5, Château Mouton Rothschild 2009 realised €8,125 and Lot 4, Château Mouton Rothschild 2010 achieved €7,500.
Among the mature wines, Lot 17, Château Margaux 1959 was a particular highlight, hammering at €650 against an estimate of €150–250 — more than four times its low estimate. Two bottles of Château La Mission Haut-Brion 1982 also performed strongly, hammering at €1,300 against €500–800.
There was good bidding throughout the sale, particularly for well-stored Bordeaux from strong vintages, alongside Burgundy and mature wines from private cellars.

2024 is a year in which Adam’s wants to recognise the key role buying antique furniture and furnishings at auction contributes greatly to the sustainable initiative. In 2019 the Environmental Protection Agency reported stark figures that each year in Ireland 1.2 million reusable bulky items, primarily furniture goes into landfill. Similar to the problem of ‘fast fashion’, the constant production and consumption of new items is leading to rapidly growing waste problem. We want to acknowledge those who are already buying second hand or antique furniture at auction and to encourage new buyers by highlighting the benefits of acquiring affordable, well-made quality items that are built to last.
